The building is a grade II listed school house dating from 1904. The building is in a poor state of repair and is in need of new facilities. Since spring 2009 we have been working to bring the facilities up to the standards expected of a modern community building. However this must not be at the expense of the character of the structure. Gyffin Community Centre will provide the environment within which can flourish for this social group. The management committee will actively seek to engage centre users who will endeavour provide:
Further education opportunities with priority given to
IT training
IT based education
Welsh language for learners
Exercise classes aimed at the older person
Socialising opportunities for the older person
Care will be taken to ensure groups utilising the hall offer the services though the medium of both the English and Welsh.
The very young residents of Gyffin are currently the main users the centre. Gyffin Community Centre will ensure that both Woodlands Playgroup and Gyffin Tots are retained as users. The centre will provide and improve facilities to meet the needs of these users.

13. New entrance vestibule with toilets
